The Lighthouse's Tale (Vivian & Karma)

Vivian walked swiftly through Hogsmeade. She had explored most of it, leaving the cafes and pubs for last. This seemed to be a great idea, considering how famished she was. As she came upon the taverns, a particularly bright one caught her eye. The Ravenclaw walked towards the cafe and noticed the sign: By the Sea. Oddly alluring if nothing else.

She walked into the cafe and took a seat at the bar section, mindlessly ordering a drink. When it actually came, more or less sliding across the counter into her waiting hand, Vivian only absently circled the rim with her finger. Sighing, she glanced at a menu. Ordering something simple, she waited patiently, spinning around in her seat and humming a song that she couldn't remember the name of.

Karma slid into the bench next to the nameless first year, ordering a strawberry dacore, and only grudgingly adding virgin after the disapproving glare the bartender shot at her. Taking the sweet, decidedly unalcoholic drink from the man behind the bar, Karma spun in heer barstool, examining the place with a bored eye.

"What a bore." She commented dryly. Her gaze flicked over to the firstie, and she grinned. "You're a firstie." She noted. "What's your name?"

Vivian glanced at the older girl who sat beside her and murmured more to herself than anything. "It is rather boring..."

She smiled when the girl called her a firstie, saying slyly, "Very astute, Sherlock. I'm Vivian, Vivian Hawthorne." The Ravenclaw then looked down at her drink. Why had she only gotten water? Shrugging, she sipped it before her eyes suddenly flitted towards the other girl who was staring, unimpressed, at the daiquiri she'd ordered.

"I've never tried a daiquiri," Vivian mused, placing her chin on her palm. "What's it taste like?"

"Any relation to Aragorn?" She asked curiously, taking another sip of the sugary drink.

"Tastes like..." She paused, then shrugged, slapping her hand down onto the counter twice. "Oy! Barkeep. Get me two more of these!" she downed the rest of hers and slid one of the new ones at the firstie, sipping from the new one.

Vivian shook her head. "I've heard of him but I've never met him..."

She grabbed the drink purely out of reflex when it skittered down the bartop. Smiling gratefully at the bartender, the Ravenclaw drank the daiquiri. The sweetness of it nearly bowled her over. "That's... actually really good."

Vivian leaned off the barstool briefly, humming, before coming back and drumming her fingers on the bartop. "So..." she drawled, looking at the other girl without turning her head. "Exactly who are you?"
