Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust - Lesson 1 - 5th Years Empty Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust - Lesson 1 - 5th Years

Post by Coyota Rangan Wed Aug 01, 2012 4:36 am

Coyota walked onto the field, feeling once again out of place in the wide open space. She tried her best to concentrate on the brand new broom in her hands, but all she could think of was the best hiding spots for a sniper out here on the grounds. She knew she shouldn't be thinking like this. Hogwarts was supposed to be one of the safest places in the world.

A memory came back to her. It was her and her father on a broom, surrounded by members of his main guard. They were some of the most experienced fighters in India, but five of them were taken down in just a few seconds. Coyota kept picturing the flashes of green light, then their bodies falling limply off of the brooms and down into nowhere. Her father didn't even blink. They are only puppets, he would say, Being cut from their strings.

The girl was shaken back to reality as she heard muffled footsteps behind her, and she whirled around, still slightly jumpy from the memory.

Iris lacked her usual enthusiasm for flying as she made her way to the field. Ever since the break up, she's been in a shitty mood and more withdrawn from crowds than ever. Of course, she wasn't the one to cry and become suicidal, but she was feeling a weird kind of sadness; something she wasn't used to, unlike her other times.

The Gryffindor noticed there was just one other student there and wondered if the Professor was going to show up. Not in the mood to talk, she sat down on the ground and gazed ahead.

Angel miserably trekked to the Flying class. She loved flying, it relaxed her. That was pretty much why she wanted to come to class without hesitating.

Angel hardly aknowledged the two other students. She didn't want to talk to anyone at all, but stood by herself.

With his broom firmly held over his shoulder, Ophion gazed around the flying field, taking it in. He did enjoy flying, in fact on more than one occasion had wanted to try for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, but felt that it would cut into his learning. This year however, it just might have been a different story. Stopping in the center of the field, he let his broom hit the ground, but kept a tight grip on it. "Teacher's not here yet? Why the hell are they always late. Or am I early? No matter..." He wasn't talking to anyone in particular, just speaking to himself as he did often.

Stepping one leg over the broom, he kicked up until it began to levitate, rising himself several feet into the air, and peering around, to get a better look at the field and entrances. This way, he would be able to keep a better eye on which students were coming, and when the teacher would be arriving.

Picky grinned, holding her broom tightly she rushed out onto the field, She noted that it seemed the other students were lost to themselves and she frowned. "Is no one sociable around here." She muttered to herself. She looked around for a familiar face. She hadn't seen Ophie since they had exited the train. She wondered where he was. She looked up catching movement out of the corner of her eye. She saw the raven haired boy sitting on his broom hovering, watching over the field like it belonged to him. She waited for him to speak having felt his new found indifference to her on the train, she dropped her broom to the ground and sat with it to wait.

He had spotted Ariana walking out to the field, and smiled faintly. He hadn't really spoken to anyone so far, which was fine by him, but she was one of the people who were the closest to him. Flying down to her, he landed gently beside her, stepping off of his broom. "Hey picky." It was the name he had given her when he met her. It was meant as a teasing name, but it seemed to stick with her and she didn't mind it.

"How's your day going?" Though he was a quiet person, he talked more with her. He couldn't say why it was, maybe even he just needed a person to open up to. Setting his broom beside hers, he sat and leaned against the tree, lifting his legs and setting his arms on the top.

She laid her head in his lap affectionately, Ophie seemed to be the only person who could tolerate her babbling talk and crazy thoughts. "It's been ok." She sighed and pilled on a string on his pant hem. "No one seems to care to be social. YOu would think everyone here was in some huge emotional turmoil. We're teenagers for Merlin's sake." She looked at the rest if the class, being antisocial and quiet. "How about you?" She looked up at him blushing softly she examined his face. She knew it by heart though she would never tell anyone.

Ophion caught himself idly stroking his fingers through her hair, and stopped, but didn't pull his hand from her hair. When she looked up to him, his eyes met hers and he cocked his head to the side, a smile crossing his lips again. "Exactly. We're teenagers. The very definition of a soap opera. If there's not something going on, it's been a bad day." With a shake of his head, he leaned his head back against the tree and closed his eyes, breathing out sharply. "Don't worry about them. They'll be sociable when they want to be."

Sighing, Stark made his way toward the flying feild, a broom over his shoulder and his entire person bored. He supposed he was supposed to be here for... some reason or another, but the 17 year old merely looked that. 17. Bored. Late for class.

He stopped beside the students, his eyes running over them all. "Hey." He greeted, looking from one to the other. "Hasn't the Professor gotten here yet?" He looked from one to the other again, frowning. Should professor whatever have gotten there already? Or something? The lesson should have started ages ago. Frowning around at the professor-less field, something tugged at his memory. There was something he should have... known...

But it eluded him. So instead, he just leaned against the trunk of one of the trees and eyed the girls present.

Picky sighed sitting up scoffing at Ophie's comment. "Yeah right." A young man walking up toward them a mildly confused look on his face. She looked at him and then Ophie, confusion flashing across her face. She leaned into Ophie as if she were about to kiss him whispering in his ear. "Isn't that our professor?"
