Tshering, proudly wearing her Prefect badge, smiled somewhat kindly at the Professor before she sat down, readying her notepad. She dipped her quill into the ink, and once he began to speak about them and what they were, that was when she became interested. She had heard all about Halley's Comet and what it was. Its next sighting was believed to be in twenty sixty-two: five years from now.

She would love to live to see it.

As she noted it down, she let go of her mask of confidence, egoistical remarks and pessimistic output on life and remembered how much she used to love Astronomy. Deep inside, she still does. She still does when she dreamily stares at the stars behind her as Professor O'Brien went on about his lecture.

There was always something about the subject, about the tower, about the skies, about everything she can sight within above that she loved. The stars and cosmic stuff can transform her somewhat into a little child again, believing in fairy tales and once when she didn't know about the Wizarding world and the true identity of her 'father', she already knew magic was real. And how ironic it was that the muggles can't appreciate these stuff. Magic. They are living underneath its presence. How can they be so oblivious to it if they're actually lucky even if they're not magical?

The Slytherin thought as she ascended the metal staircase on her way to the classroom. The first signs of night air washed away all the thoughts, and for the first time of the day she started to study again, she felt happiness. She gazed at the twinkling tiny diamonds winking on her and took a seat beside the Ravenclaw after giving a greeting to the professor. She took out her half-filled notebook, the one she had used in her third year, and began scribbling the lecture in it with her quill.

And really, it was as fascinating as it can get the history of the comet. Good thing though, Aristotle stated that comets weren't planets. He made a difference indeed. In hope, Iris wanted to catch a comet anytime soon. Maybe for a miracle, at the moment in the tower. Perhaps, a Great Comet that can be bright enough for earth.

Though Astronomy wasn't a subject Iris particularly fancied that much, she had to admit it was one of the very few classes she found interesting, other than Dueling, DADA and Flying. Plus, she kind of liked the Professor as she found to be much more sane than some others.

And the greatest advantage, she loved the dark and night sky which'd be filled with stars.

The Gryffindor nodded to her Professor and sat on the ground, barely noticing the others as she began to pay attention to the lecture. She didn't take down notes much, only writing what she felt was important or maybe something she couldn't retain in her mind. And just like that, she was taken away into the world of comets.

She had often wondered about shooting stars as well. And even though she knew they were just meteors, she couldn't help but have the desire to see one and make a wish to see if it's real.

Sure, she was willing to take a chance for it.

Tshering suddenly felt like Florence, who could draw the world if need be. She took a spare roll of parchment from her satchel, and with her quill, she began to draw an outline of what she imagined her comet would look like with three, gentle strokes. Sure, she wasn't an artist, but she supposed that one drawing for herself would be alright.

To make the tail, Tshering dipped her finger into the ink, and smudged it across the parchment. To her chagrin, it did not work out as well as it should. She moaned, shaking her head. She then muttered a charm to clean her fingers before she decided on dotting some stars across the empty background.

Hades walked to the Astronomy class. This was probably the one none boring class he was taking this course. Hades walked in and saw both Iris's and Anna. He was stuck with girls as usual. He took an empty seat, giving the professor a slight nod and looked at the board. Comets, he knew a little about them.

The Slytherin, bored and tired of writing the same topics over and over again during the lecture, decided to try her hand in scribbling a different idea. Besides, she can just read the textbooks if she missed some of them. And she hadn't written a few lines of her own in years since she neglected the talent she possessed from her 'father' once she knew of the truth. Up until now, she felt uneasy whenever she'd see herself write like him. Avoiding the Daily Prophet seemed like a good idea to not to enhance more of it.

Pushing the thought aside, Frances wrote sensible words on the back part of her notebook as she dipped her quill into the ink here and there, making no obvious signs that she stopped listing down the lesson. She gazed at the night sky for some inspiration, and declared a part of her poem,

The stars misplaced in the sky,
gazing at them makes one feel alive.

Florence had apologized for being late to lessons because of questions the first years asked her and then sat close to Tshering so that she felt safe. The lecture wasn't the most interesting thing ever so she took out her sketchpad like she saw the Ravenclaw do and began to draw. Unlike her Florence decided to draw a heart.

The Hufflepuff tilted her pencil to the right and smiled when blocks of lines formed a heart. She wrote the initials FO & TM in the middle and when she was sure no one was looking she kissed the paper and held it to her heart.

Iva stared the a ceiling, wtching the stars enchanted above them carefully. Those magical things, zooming across the sky, now seemed dull and flat with reality. Ice chunks, burning away into the air in an instant like moths caught in a candle.

A single death of such a fine beauty seemed unpoetic. A tragedy. So, instead of taking the notes, Iva sketched a long streaming tail across her paper, creating her immortal comet. One that one last longer than any other. Longer than any human. Longer than Pieter did.

She didn't learn anything that class.

The more the Gryffindor noted about comets, the more it sparked her interest. And just like that, she suddenly had an intense desire to witness a meteor shower or even a shooting star. But the Hailey's comet seemed to be the most appealing. Who knows, she just might live to see one of those.

But more than anything, she wanted too see a Great Comet, the one that shines exceptionally bright. And so, her mind started wandering about the various scenarios where she might actually see one.

Earth turns and you turn with it.
But it seems as if you are still and the stars are moving,

The Slytherin, desperate for escape, wrote those next two lines on another blank space of her notebook. If only people could be like planets, just revolving silently without muttering any words. And making a huge difference, still and perfect as humans and other smaller bodies in space stare at them. If only all would be like that, then nothing would be much of a problem.

She was having a rough time, with herself, with others, and with Tshering. She still couldn't get over what her best friend had said during lunch, when she least expected it to be that unacceptable. And the way she acted in front of the younger ones, seemed regretful. As if she didn't know who she was earlier. Maybe because she is mental, unable to control herself ever since. She still hoped that the second-year she jinxed was okay in the infirmary.

She knew she didn't mean to, she knew there was no other way but to get along with it, with her misfortunes. Her desire was nothing more than escape.

If only Muffinland was real in the first place.

Caleb walked into class looking through his bag until he found what he needed. He gave a slight nod to the professor and took an empty seat. He got out his book for the class and paid attention. He was listening to the professor talk about comets. He didn't want to be bothered with comets but he had to do this. Caleb slouched in his chair and listened to the professor as he continued on with the lesson.
