Love is Blind

She was wealthy. That was the only reason he was sitting there now, charming smile plastered onto his face as if he wanted to be no where else in the world. The fact was there were so many more places he'd rather be than where he was now. But he had a job, and Roul had never failed at a job.

This one wasn't even hard. He could get her to take her fancy jewels off with nothing more than a few well placed grins. He knew it, who he was working for knew it - hell, he was pretty sure she knew it.

He didn't even know her name. He was getting sloppy that way - he'd have to pull himself together soon. To get any good compliments across, he'd have to actually look committed. Maybe he should just give up now and go the old way - pickpocket.

A small cough from his companion brought his attention up from the dessert menu. She was giving him a demur smile as she stated she was going to the bathroom. There was a look he knew in her eyes as she left. Funny, he still didn't quite feel like following.

Still he gave her back end an appreciative glance as she left him alone at the table. There was nothing left to do now, but finish the job. He merely needed to decide how he was going to do that.
